TrackAbout Track Part ThreePart 3 and B Part 3 and C Part 3 and D |
Part Three Section DIn some strange and specific moment we guessed quickly and all at once that something new had just unfolded beneath our eyes. If we had been asked whether to live that moment again or to move on to the next I think most of us would have asked for the chance to appreciate the sensation one more time. But instead we had to let the memory of the experience fade into the gentle oblivion of our youth as we struggled to graduate from school. On the other hand, we can say that no one really appreciated the moment for its full value because we would not learn until many years later just how significant the event truly was. I recall my Physics Professor asking me question after question in rapid succession as the realization dawned upon him that I had indeed really lived through such an amazing experience. His skepticism was somewhat impaired in my presence from that day forward. |
