Some day the fire will come down from the mountain and consume the village and then people will have to move all their lives and belongings to another part of the country. We have attempted to help them see the danger but they are so bound by myth and tradition that they would much rather wait to see what happens than take it on faith that their teachings have been wrong for so many centuries.
There is a special moment when you find yourself looking down into the clouds below the mountain peak and you wonder if perhaps your science and technology have not lead you to miss something that nature prepared especially for you. It is easy to see why people would devote their entire lives to finding a way to survive at such a high altitude despite the considerable odds against success.
